About Chung Thanh Phan
I am a Lecturer in Economics in The Business School at RMIT Vietnam. My research examines how access to finance, social networks and technology shape the lives of households, entrepreneurs and firms.
I work across financial inclusion and microcredit, rural development, technology adoption and environmental innovation, and aquaculture sustainability and welfare. My research combines applied economics with causal inference, panel data methods, network analysis and data analytics.
Research and collaboration
Much of my work focuses on Vietnam and Thailand, connecting household and firm evidence to questions about credit, livelihoods and development. Recent research also examines the economic incentives and sustainability trade-offs involved in Vietnamese shrimp farming.
